Art Deco
In this workshop, we will learn three different styles of Art Deco lettering using both the Speedball B-nibs and the Pilot Parallel Pen and will do one small project.
Class Description
In this workshop, we will learn three different styles of Art Deco lettering. For two of these styles, we will use different sizes of Speedball B-nibs and for the remaining style, we will use the Pilot Parallel Pen. The workshop includes a short presentation on the history of the Art Deco movement and study of the different elements of Art Deco design. We will do a small project using the new skills and scripts taught in the class. Each class will include live music that goes specifically with each lettering style. Classes are live on Zoom and will be recorded. The recordings will be available for three months after the last class session (August 13, 2026).
Course Details
This class on Art Deco hand lettering taught by Cora Pearl was created for students of all levels and who are interested in exploring the world of Art Deco through hand lettering. We will learn three different styles of Art Deco lettering as well as some decorative elements to use with your lettering. In Cora's holistic approach to teaching we will enjoy live music and creative warm up exercises during each class session.

CLASS LEVEL: This course is appropriate for all levels of experience, though previous calligraphy or hand lettering experience is always helpful! Cora's classes are a beginner friendly learning environment.
